In my career I have gained experience working and supporting clients suffering and living with dementia, cancer, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and age related mental illness. I am competent at providing personal care and assessing for physical health needs, prevention of pressure sores and making appropriate referrals to other medical professionals. I have learned to be patient and respect individuals wherever l go. I enjoy caring for my clients and always ensuring that I promote independent lifestyle when needed, thus allowing them to enjoy life better. As a carer, I ensure that I create a relaxing atmosphere whereby my client feels comfortable, allowing them to practice their own culture and also giving them choices.
