About Laura C.

I am an experienced carer and I have supported clients with a variety of medical conditions such as dementia, brain injury and stroke, in hospitals, nursing homes and live in work. I have also assisted them with personal care and other household duties required by the service user. A good carer has to have a passion and love for this job as it can be very challenging. You have to be understanding to the client and have empathy for them. I like to learn from others and try out new things so I engage my clients in activities that interest them such as sports, quizzes, board games, reading or taking walks etc. My individual style is person centred and holistic, it promotes independence, choice and dignity. I ensure that clients' personal hygiene is paramount, that they eat and drink well; are active within their capabilities and am also perceptive- I listen beyond the articulated.

“Laura was absolutely wonderful looking after looking after my husband. She was so caring and gentle with him. Honestly I cannot say enough about her. She has such a gentle nature and was an absolute delight to have in the house. She knew what she was doing and her care was excellent. I will certainly keep in touch with her and would love to have her back.”

Previous Client

“I have known Laura since July 2016 when she first came to care for my mum. Since then Laura has come to stay with mum as a live in carer on a total of 4 occasions. Each stay as been for about 2/3 weeks each. Mum has dementia & is immobile & is entirely dependent on carers to enable her to live in her own home. I have found Laura to be trustworthy, very caring & I have no hesitation in leaving my mum in Laura's care. Laura is kind & patient & capable of dealing with difficult situations. Her easy going manner helps to put mum at ease & also Laura to form good working relationships. I'd absolutely recommend her to others as well.”
