About Eleanor M.

My name is Eleanor Mpofu, and I have more than 20 years of experience caring for people in residential care settings and supported living environments. I chose a career in care because I genuinely enjoy working with people and making a positive difference in their lives. I find it very rewarding to support others, help them feel valued and cared for, and build meaningful relationships based on trust, respect and kindness. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong understanding of the importance of person-centred care. I believe that caring for someone is about much more than supporting their health needs; it is about respecting the whole person, their individuality, life experiences, preferences and dignity. I take great pride in helping people feel safe, comfortable, listened to and valued in their own homes. I am happy supporting with daily routines, personal care, medication, appointments, household tasks and other aspects of everyday life, depending on each person's individual needs. I always encourage independence wherever possible and adapt my approach to ensure the person I support remains at the centre of their care. I have the confidence to work independently and responsibly while also working closely with families, GPs and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, consistent and well-coordinated care. I understand the importance of clear communication, reliability and building strong relationships with both the individual and their family. It would be a privilege to use my experience and caring nature to help someone live as comfortably, safely and independently as possible in the place they call home.

Hobbies

Outside of my work, I enjoy reading books, as I find reading a relaxing and enjoyable way to unwind and continue learning. I also enjoy exercising and keeping active, as I believe maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle is important for both physical and mental wellbeing. I enjoy going for walks, staying active and making the most of my free time.
