About Lorna T.

My name is Lorna Tjiuoro, and I’m a dedicated, compassionate live-in carer with over seven years of experience supporting individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible. I hold a NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care and have worked with a wide range of clients, including those requiring palliative care, stoma care, and catheter support. My journey into care began when I looked after my grandmother back home. When I moved to the UK, I became really interested in how older people are cared for here. That interest quickly turned into a passion, and I began my professional care career. Since then, I’ve loved every moment of being a carer. I especially enjoy building strong, trusting relationships with my clients and offering companionship as well as practical support. I’m confident working independently, under pressure, and as part of a team. My day-to-day responsibilities typically include helping clients with personal care (such as washing, dressing, and grooming, assisting with meals, supporting mobility, administering medication in line with care plans, and liaising with families to keep them updated on their loved one’s wellbeing. I always aim to provide respectful, person-centred care that supports both dignity and independence. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, cleaning, playing netball, and spending time with my family. I’m a naturally warm and chatty person, and I love taking time to listen, share stories, and bring a little joy into my clients’ everyday routines.
