About Rudo M.

My name is Rudo Magara, and I was born in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. I moved to England in March 2001 after losing my father to cancer. Shortly after arriving, I began my journey in care as a live-in carer in Richmond. Over the years, I have worked in various settings, including residential homes, nursing homes, and domiciliary care within my local community. I especially enjoyed working with ICT patients transitioning from hospital to home, helping them settle back into their daily routines. During my career as a domiciliary carer, I received my greatest accolade from an employer in the United States, earning high praise across four states. I have also been honored with multiple "Carer of the Month" awards. With 21 years of experience, much of it spent as a private live-in carer, I have consistently received recommendations that reflect my dedication and professionalism. I have hands-on experience collaborating with specialists such as occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, district nurses, community nurses, and GPs. I hold an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, which I completed at Northbrook College. One of my most cherished roles was at Chiltington Residential Home, where I combined my duties as a carer with cooking in the main kitchen. This experience deepened my passion for food nutrition, which has since become a favorite hobby of mine. I am skilled in assisting with daily living activities, including administering medication, meal preparation, and personal care. I am deeply passionate about promoting patient well-being and fostering independence. Known for providing dignified, dependable, and high-quality care, I have a proven track record of exceeding expectations. My strengths include being supportive, understanding, and encouraging, qualities that I bring to every client I work with.
