Vanessa M.

Vanessa is a warm and friendly South African carer. She feels that she has been a nurse at heart all her life as she has cared for family members, despite having spent much of her professional career as a bookkeeper. She has also worked as a maternity nurse and doula. Vanessa has worked professionally as a live-in carer since 2016 and has gained a wide range of experience during that time. She enjoys helping the elderly to continue to be as independent as possible in their own home. She enjoys hearing about her client’s lives, their hobbies and interests, and their friends and families. She has cared for clients with spinal injuries, dementia, incontinence, stomas, Parkinson’s, stroke, nephrostomy, and depression, and for clients who are end of life. She has also worked in a companionship role with a client whose partner had recently died. Vanessa is experienced in the use of a range of hoists, catheter care, stoma care, and oxygen therapy.
