About Petya V.

Petya is a warm, compassionate, and professional carer who became a live- in carer in 2017. In the late 1990’s she worked as a nurse in a palliative care unit in Bulgaria, becoming competent with all aspects of palliative treatments. She then raised her daughter and learnt English before working as a translator for the Red Cross. Petya has really enjoyed her move into live-in care as the focus is on one individual and she can use her previous healthcare experience. As a live-in carer, Petya has had experience caring for clients with dementia, diabetes, limited mobility and TIAs. She also has experience in hoisting, catheter care, stoma care, PEG feeding, wound dressing, and the use of mobility aids. Petya describes herself as a hard worker, willing to learn new skills and develop as a live- in carer. She is methodical and kind and ultimately finds fulfilment in allowing someone to be independent in the comfort of their own home.

Hobbies

Petya enjoys cooking for her clients and will happily make meals according to their tastes. She loves cooking Southern Mediterranean food and trying new cuisines. She would be happy to help with her client’s pets should they wish her to. Whilst she doesn’t have a lot of free time, Petya enjoys reading, travelling and archaeology. She will gladly learn and involve herself in her client's interests, whether it’s Formula 1 or chess, and is happy to take them out for drives in her car if they wish.
