About Gaynor P.

My name is Gaynor Pireu, and I am a well-presented, friendly, and calm carer with a strong sense of intelligence and compassion. Although I was born in the UK, I lived and worked in Johannesburg from 1976 until 2016, when I moved back to the UK to pursue my career as a live-in carer. Since then, I have had the privilege of caring for clients with a range of conditions, including dementia, Parkinson's, diabetes, depression, multiple sclerosis, and limited mobility. I also have experience providing incontinence care, catheter care, and using mobility hoists. Before transitioning into care, I worked in community development and also founded and ran a film production company. While I follow a vegan lifestyle, I am happy to cook meat and fish dishes for my clients, using fresh, high-quality ingredients to suit their tastes. I am a driver, love animals, and am a non-smoker, all of which contribute to creating a comfortable and supportive environment for those in my care."

“Gaynor has been amazing and has been through a lot with my mum in the last couple of weeks, but we have all felt she was a godsend, supporting us as well as mum.”

Signature dish:

Although I am a vegan, I am happy to cook meat and fish for my clients. While I may not consider myself the greatest cook, I can follow recipes and prepare meals to suit my clients' preferences. I don't taste the meat or fish dishes I make, but I am confident in my ability to cook typical English meals, like shepherd’s pie. I also enjoy baking vegan cakes.
