About Petra A.

My natural caring nature and empathy for others made me opt for a career in caregiving, with over fourteen years of experience providing person-centered care, allowing me to give more personalized attention to my clients in their own homes. Throughout my career I have supported clients with dementia, memory loss, suffering from MS disease, Parkinson´s, vascular dementia, stroke, cerebral palsy, bed-confined, disabled, palliative and respite care and those unable to carry out everyday tasks independently, supporting them with personal care and hygiene, bathing, grooming, toileting, catheter care, enabling mobility including hoisting, medication administration, cooking, feeding, shopping, laundry, handling basic household chores, working with senior nurses and other health care experts to deliver particular care, light exercises, organizing leisure activities, appointments. I have met and assisted a wide variety of clients, all of them with a unique, rich story and that what sharpened my skills, helping me to understand exactly what people need and significantly improved my ability to adapt to each clientś unique personality and routine. I enjoy listening to older people, happy to work at my client´s pace, following their lead. As a caring and reliable individual, I have a passion for supporting those who need it most and helping them to make the most of their lives as the smallest gesture can make a difference, I try my best to be mindful and reassuring when it is needed most, improving the quality of life for my clients and their loved ones. I have prided myself on my ability to bring a sense of calm to difficult moments in fast-paced environments. I completed a certified statutory training program in CPR, First Aid, specialised training and courses on dementia, medication, safeguarding, manual handling, health and safety that equipped me with the skills to handle dynamic environments and strategies to manage behavioural challenges, translating these theoretical concepts into warm, person-centered daily care, ensuring clientś safety. I love going for long hikes in the country, visiting markets, different towns, museums and places of historical significance and culture heritage, I am an avid viewer of mountain and outdoor adventure documentaries, enthusiastic about literature focused on mountain exploration, constantly inspired by stories of resilience and perseverance. I have a lot of experience preparing classic British dishes and comfortable cooking standard food as I really enjoy this cuisine in general.
