About Simangele Z.

My journey into caregiving began with a deeply personal experience: watching my beloved mother battle Alzheimer's disease. Witnessing her gradual loss of identity was incredibly challenging for our family. Fortunately, she received compassionate care from dedicated professionals throughout her final days. The kindness and support of the nurses, caregivers, and doctors left a lasting impression on me, inspiring me to give back to others in similar situations. Driven by this passion, I began my career as a Care Assistant at Bupa Care Homes, where I honed my skills and gained valuable experience over several years. Subsequently, I transitioned to domiciliary care with Prestige Nursing and Care in Leeds, providing essential support to individuals in their own homes. My experience encompasses palliative care, catheter care, stoma care, PEG feeding, and dementia care, equipping me with the knowledge and expertise to excel as a caregiver. I pride myself on being an effective communicator and attentive listener. I completed my GCSEs in Zimbabwe and pursued further education with an Access to Higher Education course at Leeds City College (formerly Leeds College of Technology). In my personal life, I enjoy attending church, going for walks, and indulging in cooking and baking. A former client affectionately nicknamed me "Mrs. Mary Berry" due to my enthusiasm for Mary Berry's cooking and baking programs, which inspire me to create delightful meals and treats. Caring is at the core of my identity, and I am dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those I support.
