About Margaret N.

I was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, where I lived with my husband and four children until I became a widow in 1996. In 1999, I emigrated to the UK with my children, ready to fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse. This journey began at Brighton University, where I pursued my nursing qualifications. After dedicating many years to the nursing profession, I retired in November 2019. Following my retirement, I took some time to travel and rest. However, I soon felt a strong desire to return to work, albeit at a slower pace. In June 2020, during the Covid pandemic, I began working as a live-in carer and companionship provider, which I found to be immensely fulfilling. In my role as a live-in carer, I have enjoyed building relationships with my clients and their families, allowing me to apply my nursing skills while also learning new ones. My experience includes supporting individuals with a range of conditions, including Alzheimer’s Dementia, Depression, Eating Disorders, Type 1 Diabetes, Mild Cognitive Impairment, Type 2 Diabetes, Schizophrenia, and Vascular Dementia. I am passionate about providing compassionate care and am committed to enhancing the quality of life for those I support.
