I am a self-motivated, competitive and result-driven person. Combining a strong academic background, training and extensive practical experience , I give clients well rounded and competent support. I am constantly learning new things- both in my work and about myself and I am always open to being shown new ways to do things. I apply this learning outlook to when I get to know a new client. I spend some time initially getting to know them, learning about their life, interests and hobbies so I can start to gain an understanding of them as a person but I continually learn things about them and use these things to tailor my approach to that persons care. I like to have a patient, supportive approach when I am working with someone so they feel safe and able to try new things. I am outgoing and energetic which I find motivates those around me to enjoy life and aim high. I am experienced in many types of care in various settings. My experience has taught me how to read someone's mood, and to quickly learn how clients like to be supported. This enables me to be empathetic and sensitive to the needs of others. I am confident using mobility aids and providing physical support with medical equipment. I have good communication skills and am aware of the importance of feeding back to multidisciplinary teams involved with someone's care so I am used to leasing with GP’s, nurses, therapists and other professionals. I am organised and have well developed planning skills, but at the same time I am flexible and adaptable; which is key to being able to support someone who may have needs that change the days plans.
