I am empathetic, committed, and highly attuned to the needs of the service users I support. My passion for caring for others drives my ability to adapt to new challenges, and my experience allows me to work with a diverse range of individuals from various backgrounds and with different conditions, including ADHD, Alzheimer’s, dementia, anxiety, COPD, cancer, cerebral palsy, deafness, depression, eating disorders, insulin-dependent (Type 1) diabetes, mild cognitive impairment, non-insulin-dependent (Type 2) diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, physical disabilities, rheumatoid arthritis, strokes, and vascular dementia. I understand the importance of a person-centered approach in care, ensuring my clients feel heard and respected while maintaining their independence. I am comfortable providing companionship as well as higher levels of care that require moving and handling equipment, and I readily adapt to meet the changing needs of my clients. Building strong relationships is essential to me, and I love getting to know my clients by taking an interest in their hobbies and interests and spending time with them. I am flexible in my work and can easily adjust to new situations. While I structure the day around my clients' needs, I remain open to changes in plans as they arise. I enjoy engaging clients in activities like games, cooking, walks, and meaningful conversations, as I believe these experiences are wonderful ways to foster trust and connection.
