About Grace N.

I have worked in the care sector since 2003. During this time, I have gained experience working in nursing homes, in residential and in supported living. I have worked with people living with dementia, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's as well as those with learning disabilities and autism. In my career I have worked alongside health care professionals and I have a good understanding of duty of care. As a live in carer I have enjoyed working and looking after the elderly and I have learned to appreciate and accept people as individuals with different characteristics. I enjoy going out for walks and taking them out to places of their interest. I love cooking and doing activities to enhance their wellbeing. In my work experience, I have learnt to give a mile further and ensure that my job's priority is to love and care. As a carer I ensure that a person continues to have the quality of life assisting in personal care duties, that is bathing, washing and dressing. Assisting with toileting and maintenance of their appearance. A carer has to respect the person they work with, show empathy, be reliable and patient. I am flexible and able to multi-task. I have good communication skills and professional attitude..
