Hospital discharge and NHS support

Most people leaving hospital in Liverpool will have been treated at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital or Aintree University Hospital, both run by Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. NHS Cheshire and Merseyside ICB oversees discharge planning across the wider area, working with Liverpool City Council to help people return home safely, with live-in care available where a family needs more support than a short-term package can offer.

As a CQC regulated carer provider, we can arrange full costs and available live-in carers for:

Condition-specific care

Dementia or any other condition-specific care

Reablement care

Postoperative or any other injury-related care

General care

Overnight, companionship or disability care

CQC regulation

Hometouch's managed live-in care service is regulated by the Care Quality Commission and rated Good. Inspectors assess how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led a service is, and the full report is available on the CQC website.

Paying for live-in care in Liverpool

As Liverpool’s unitary authority, Liverpool City Council carries out care needs assessments for residents. The national means-test thresholds apply here as everywhere else in England: assets above £23,250 mean paying for care in full, while anyone below £14,250 qualifies for full financial support.
