I have been a live in carer for over 15 years. During this time I had a varied clientele with specific needs, which has broadened my experience. I also gained tremendous insight and knowledge of care, forming a better awareness and understanding of people and the job in hand. Being a live in carer can be challenging, but it is a vocation with tremendous reward. Achieving results, no matter the situation, brings satisfaction, relevancy, and above all huge smiles to client and carer.
As a carer I aim to focus on the whole person, taking up a holistic approach and firmly believing that 'food is thy medicine'. Maintaining dignity at all times plays an active role in my caring position, making sure my client retains their self respect and pride. I always like to think of a member of my own family, and how they would like to be treated.
I consider myself to be a confident and competent person, giving reassurance and constructive advice when needed, whilst promoting and maintaining my clients independence and decision making at all times.
My interests and hobbies are varied, but I consider my main love and passion in life are my dogs.Having animals allows me to enjoy outdoor life, plenty of walking, enjoying fresh air and helping to maintain a happy healthy lifestyle. I also love cooking, travelling, art and listening to music, especially opera. My current hobby is my house renovation which has incorporated interior design.
I would be happy to have a chat with you, please get in contact with me if you are interested. I'm available from the 1st April for 6 weeks.
