My experience as a carer started in my home, where I took care of my mother in-law who suffered from a stroke. It was my pleasure to look after her, she was a lovely lady. I would feed her, give her personal care and make sure that her bed pan was always clean.
I later worked at a residential home which specialises in dementia care for older people. My experience at this home was a rewarding one. I gave personal care to some clients, washed and clothed them, and worked with clients who had Parkinson's disease. I have also cared for young adults with for learning and physical disabilities.
What makes me a good carer is the fact that I am patient by nature, caring as well as sensitive and responsible. I am cheerful and a good listener.
I love music and enjoy meeting people. I can also speak several languages.
