I have 10 years experience working as a carer but the most enjoyable part was the last 3 years when I was working as a live in carer for one private client.

Caring is my vocation. I enjoy working as one for vulnerable adults, supporting their way of life while they stay in their own home. I'm compassionate, patient, respectful, honest, hard working and believe in promoting and supporting the right to choice, independence and privacy.

I love reading, going for short walk and watching TV. The social activities I would like to do with my clients is what they mostly enjoy to do so I will encourage and motivate them.

I'm available to start immediately.

I can confirm that Bridget worked for my family as our dearly departed mum's live in carer from December 2013 to February 2017. Bridget is a very dedicated, polite, respectful, motivated, intelligent, honourable, warm, kind and hard working individual who did a tremendous job in caring for our mum in the best possible way than we had ever thought possible in 3 years. Bridget brought a positive impact to mum and us as a family as she engaged with mum in such a beautiful way that her dementia seemed to ease up a little bit. Bridget was dedicated enough to sit with mum endlessly filling her in on the most important details of her life that she did not remember well. We had told Bridget about mum's way of life, family and shown her family photos which Bridget had used the information to remind mum on the things that mattered which she was constantly forgetting. Bridget's duties were providing all personal care (assisted mum to make independent choice of what to wear in accordance with weather or occasion), helping to organise and keep mum's appointments with relevant people, (ie doctors, district nurses, optician, hairdresser, family and friends respectively), preparing Mum's fresh meals on time and encouraging her to eat and drink, prompting mum to take all her medication and also prepared them from the doses boxes. Bridget also was responsible for ordering mum's incontinent pads, medication and do a shopping list of what was needed in the house. Mum's hobbies were to do word search and watch the chase and pointless, Bridget would sit patiently and help her with all or until Mum dozed off. She also helped with cleaning, washing, ironing. From the time Bridget started working for our mum to her last days in February of 2017, Bridget had become like a family as we all found her very pleasant, polite , trustworthy and comfortable to communicate with, she has an amazing sense of humour and always managed to bring a smile on all of us. I highly recommend Bridget to whoever will need help from a highly respectful and organised individual who is very passionate and committed about her job and is always on time or will always notify us if she was running late. Bridget has the right passion and attitude to work with the vulnerable people as she has a loving and calming nature about her and we will stay in touch with her always for she brought so much love for our mum and we know that mum's last days were made more comfortable because of Bridget's care, as we are a busy family we knew mum was in great care as we were constantly updated on her well being as and when the situation needed. We are very thankful to Bridget for all her support, love and care.
