I've been working as a live in carer for 4 years. Initially I was a live in carer for a couple. Unfortunately the husband passed away soon but I continued to look after his wife who was wheelchair bound and was suffering from dementia and incontinence. I managed a team of carers for her, I took her to hospital appointments, arranged her medications, cooked, cleaned and did the shopping. I was initially booked to look after her for 6 months and ended up caring for her for 4 years.

I'm a very calm, patient person with a caring and compassionate disposition.

I enjoy going for walks in the park, playing cards and knitting. I also like reading on a variety of subjects which I will discuss and read to my clients if they like.

I'm looking for a live in care opportunity nationwide and available immediately although I'm on holiday from the 6th of November and to the 27th of November. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you're looking for someone to take care of your loved one(s).

Sharon cared for my mother, as a live in carer, from august 2013 until her death on August 1st 2017. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She was a caregiver, a companion and a friend to my mother over those four years and I can confidently say that she made those years happier, more comfortable and healthier than we, my mum's family, could have hoped for. My mother needed physical care which included help with all items of personal care and mental stimulation due to her vascular dementia. She provided both of these with a high degree of professional competence and, just as importantly, genuine compassion and patience that never failed to impress all of us. I cannot count the number of times that, dropping in on my mum, I found Sharon and her laughing about something silly, discussing her last or just sitting companionably together.

I have the great pleasure of writing Ms Sharon R a reference. She worked as the live-in full time carer for my elderly, frail, memory-impaired grandmother for the last four years and did an exceptional job in every capacity. Her role required a high degree of personal motivation and she showed great empathy and kindness towards my grandmother which was visible not only in the relationship that they formed but in the way that my grandmother was always presented and attended to. Sharon demonstrates strong attention to detail and quite rightly expected a very high standard of care from the other carers that came to assist in the daily routine. Sharon was always polite and patient towards my grandmother, other carers and visitors. She was confident to advocate on behalf of my grandmother when discussing matters of the household and was well equipped to discuss and manage minor medical complaints with the GP surgery. Regarding my grandmother's personal care, Sharon was thorough and careful. With two doctors in the family, her standard of care was scrutinised and not once was there reason to raise concern. I spent several weeks working with Sharon in a caring capacity as the night carer and she was knowledgeable, efficient, gentle and consistent in her routine. Sharon was also responsible for the household and kept it in good order. She managed the daily finances with great accuracy. She was a thoughtful and skilled cook, preparing nutritional and appropriate meals, taking care to match my grandmother's mood. Sharon was a loyal and kind friend to my grandmother and will be very sadly missed by all the family now that her duties are no longer necessary. I cannot recommend Sharon highly enough, she would be a wonderful asset to any team and I look forward to hearing about her many successes in the future.
