I have gained vast experience working across different healthcare settings and my clients have had a wide range of needs and medical conditions, including dementia and stroke. My main responsibilities usually were cooking, doing laundry, tidying the flat, shopping, providing medication, monitoring the client at night, assisting with personal care and mobility, prompting with nutritional intake and just in general, providing companionship and reassurance to the clients. I am a friendly, approachable, hardworking, reliable well-skilled individual with a warm and empathetic approach to working with vulnerable people. I am a natural communicator with the ability to advocate on behalf of the client and above all treat people with respect as everyone is unique in their own way. I ensure that I work along with families and health professionals to look at what needs to be adapted or equipment needed to make life easier for my clients. As a carer, I also support my clients to become independent and live a fulfilled life as well as engaging them in every aspect of life considering their individual capability.
