About Fiona W.

I currently work with adults and children with learning disabilities. I also have experience of working with the elderly with dementia and range of needs. I've been studying Adult Health and Social Care at City & Guilds and also obtain a carer liability insurance. I have 3 happy grown up daughters and have been married for 28 years. I am a bright, happy person with a positive outlook on life. I treat everyone I care for as I would like to be treated and give them the same level of care as I would my mother, father, brother, sister or daughter/son. I like sailing, horse-riding, dog walking, playing scrabble and cooking. Please get in touch if you are looking for a carer in the Brighton area.

“Fiona Wood has been looking after my mother since December 2016. Fiona was visiting my mother on a daily basis during the Christmas period and is now visiting once or twice a week. Over Christmas she noticed that my mother was ill and needed a doctor.I am so grateful for this. My mother is 100 years of age and has dementia. Fiona is excellent in the care she gives my mother, She will play games with her, take her for walks using her rollator or take her outside in her wheelchair. My mother is always very pleased to see Fiona. Fiona decides on the best way to spend time with her. Sometimes if my mother is tired she will give her a foot massage or a French manicure. Fiona has built up an excellent rapport with my mother. Fiona is always punctual and pleasant. She has an outgoing personality and makes people around her feel positive. She is an intelligent lady. If my mother does not feel well she will make sure a doctor is called. She does not wait. I am so pleased that Fiona visits my mother, I feel very comfortable knowing that she has such a wonderful lady to look after her. She has made my mother's life and mine so much better. She has sent me photographs and videos of my mother which I will always treasure!”

“Fiona is great. She is on time, efficient, flexible, very knowledgeable and thoughtful. She I extremely caring, imaginative and a lot of fun. Mum is 91 and has Alzheimer's and she really looks forward to seeing Fiona - her face brightens up with smile when she knows Fiona is coming and Fiona is one of the few people who can coax mum out. I simply can't fault her - in fact she is so good that I am a little loathe to give this recommendation in case we lose her!! I don't think you will find better than Fiona.”

“My elderly mother has been getting help from Fiona for a couple of months on a weekly basis, and we are both very pleased with how it’s working out. Fiona is responsible, caring and intelligent, and gets on with my mum very well. She’s also good at communicating with me, which can be helpful as sometimes my mum is forgetful, and/or needs extra help at short notice. We’d recommend her to others, and are very pleased to have had the introduction.”
