About Felicia V.

I'm Felicia, a warm, compassionate and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse who genuinely enjoys caring for and supporting people. Caring has always been at the heart of my professional life, and I take great pride in helping people feel safe, respected, comfortable and valued in their own home. For me, person-centred care means taking the time to listen, understand what is important to someone and support them in a way that respects their individual preferences, routines, choices, dignity and independence. I understand that being cared for can sometimes feel vulnerable, and I always aim to build trust through patience, kindness and consistency.Throughout my nursing career, I have supported people with a wide range of physical, emotional and mental health needs. I have particularly enjoyed working in one-to-one care, where I can give someone my full attention and provide personalised support based around their individual needs and goals. I find it incredibly rewarding to see someone make progress and to know that my care and encouragement have contributed to improving their quality of life.I am also someone who enjoys the companionship side of care. I believe that a live-in carer should not only provide practical support but also help make everyday life more enjoyable. I enjoy cooking, listening to music, travelling and spending quality time with family and friends, and I would be happy to share appropriate interests and activities with the person I support. My nursing background has given me valuable experience in recognising changes in someone's wellbeing, supporting emotional needs, maintaining confidentiality, safeguarding, medication awareness, infection prevention and following care plans. I understand the importance of working respectfully with families and other professionals while maintaining appropriate boundaries and putting the individual at the centre of their care.
