Hi, I’m Pat. I’m a warm, outgoing, kind and patient carer with 12 years of experience supporting older people. Caring has always been something that has come naturally to me, and I feel very privileged to be able to make a positive difference in the lives of the people I support.I first became interested in care when I was younger, when I would spend time with elderly people at my local church. I loved sitting with them, listening to their stories, sharing a cup of tea and getting to know them. Those experiences confirmed how much I enjoyed spending time with older people and supporting them.Throughout my career, I have developed extensive experience in dementia care and palliative care. My priority is always to make sure the person I’m caring for feels safe, comfortable, respected and listened to. I understand that everyone is different, so I take the time to get to know each person, their routines, preferences and interests, while encouraging them to remain as independent as possible.I’m confident supporting with personal care, medication, daily routines and practical tasks, while also providing the companionship that is such an important part of care. I particularly enjoy the companionship side of my role. Whether it’s helping with shopping, accompanying someone to a medical appointment, going out for a coffee or supporting them to visit family, I enjoy helping people stay active, connected and involved in the things that matter to them.I’m passionate about care and take great pride in helping the people I support feel comfortable, valued and able to enjoy their day-to-day life.
