About Ashley A.

I am an experienced, patient, mature and knowledgeable live-in carer with more than 10 years of experience supporting people with a wide range of physical, mental and emotional needs.Throughout my career, I have worked with clients from different backgrounds and in a variety of circumstances, including complex care situations, dementia, mental health conditions, challenging behaviour and physical disabilities.I believe every person is an individual, with their own preferences, routines, abilities and goals. My role is not simply to provide care, but to support someone to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life wherever possible. My experience includes personal care, medication support, meal preparation, household duties, mobility assistance, transport, shopping, safety assessments and providing companionship and emotional support. I have also worked with clients living with dementia, ALS, MS, severe diabetes, mental health conditions and varying degrees of physical and cognitive disability.I have worked extensively as a live-in carer and am comfortable becoming part of a client's daily routine while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. I understand the importance of building trust with clients and their families, communicating effectively and working alongside other professionals when required. My career has taken me to different countries and environments, including the UK, Denmark, Malta and Norway. I have experience working in isolated and demanding situations, and these experiences have taught me to remain calm, practical and adaptable when circumstances change.I keep my knowledge and skills up to date through regular training and professional development, ensuring that my approach reflects current best practice and legislation.

Hobbies

Outside of work, I enjoy walking and spending time with my family. I am also actively involved in church and value the sense of community, support and connection that comes with it. I enjoy reading in my spare time and have a particular interest in politics and current affairs, as I like keeping up with what is happening in the world.
