About Norah S.

Hello, my name is Norah Samwanda, and I am a compassionate retired Registered Nurse with 18 years’ experience working across the NHS and various health and care services. I hold a Diploma in Adult Nursing and a BSc (Hons) in Clinical Practice.I am passionate about providing safe, person-centred care and treating everyone with dignity, kindness and respect. My nursing background has given me extensive clinical knowledge, experience working within multidisciplinary teams, and a strong understanding of CQC requirements and professional standards.Following my retirement from nursing, I chose to continue doing what I love by working in live-in care, where I have gained a further year of experience. I am patient, hardworking, positive and a good listener, and I enjoy building trusting relationships with the people I care for.I take pride in supporting individuals to maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life, while providing companionship, warmth and reassurance. I enjoy learning, meeting new people and adapting my care to suit each person’s individual needs, routines and preferences.I would love the opportunity to use my experience, compassion and passion for care to make a positive difference in someone’s life.

Hobbies

I am active and enjoy going for walks and getting out and about with my clients when they are able and willing. Outside of caring, I enjoy gardening, cooking and baking, and one of my specialities is banana bread!I have grown-up children and grandchildren who are very dear to my heart, and I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy travelling and experiencing new places and cultures.
