Hello, my name is Lesley Holbrook and I have over 10 years’ experience working in care, mainly supporting clients living with dementia. I have completed my Care Certificate along with all relevant training, and I take pride in continuing to develop my skills and knowledge. I absolutely love my job as a carer. Getting to know each client, their likes and dislikes, their routines, their memories and their unique life story is truly important to me. I also value building strong relationships with family members, as they hold a wealth of knowledge about their loved one and play a vital role in creating consistent, person-centred care. I am kind, loyal, approachable, compassionate and reliable, and I have a strong understanding of the responsibilities that come with live-in care. My greatest motivation is simple: there’s nothing more rewarding than helping someone who needs support. I believe that at some point in life we all need care, and if I give my very best now, perhaps one day I will be met with the same kindness. Caring for older people in their later years is not just a job for me, it’s a privilege, and something I’m truly passionate about.
