My name is Stephen Brown, and I’ve been a full-time care professional for 16 years. My journey into care began when I became the live-in carer for one of my own parents. I moved to be with them and supported them through to the end of their life. It was a challenging time, but also incredibly rewarding. That experience taught me how meaningful and important good care is, and it inspired me to pursue a long-term career in this field. I realised that if I could care for a loved one with compassion and dignity, I could bring that same approach to others, treating each person I support as if they were a member of my own family.Over the years, I’ve developed a calm, compassionate, and patient approach to my work, especially when supporting older people. I always work at their pace, ensuring they feel respected and listened to. I have particular experience with dementia care and specialise in mobility assistance, helping clients remain as active and independent as possible. I also support clients with attending appointments, going out for social activities, or simply enjoying a change of scenery.Providing companionship is something I’m always happy to offer, I enjoy building trusting, positive relationships and believe consistency and kindness make all the difference in someone's daily life.
