I have over 20 years experience in the care sector working with elderly people, mostly as a live-in carer. I am skilled in providing in house care, dressing, putting to bed, helping with showering/bathing and lavatory needs, providing companionship and cooking. I would call me a conscientious and caring person who will always put the interest of the person for whom I am caring first. As well as providing care I also have administered prescribed medication as well as driving those in my care to doctors and hospital appointments. Building on the various training courses that I have attended I am very aware of the standards that need to be adhered to keep those in my care safe, clean and well nourished. I strive in all that I do to present a professional and caring approach. My assignment as a carer has been long-term enabling me to build lasting relationships with those under my care. I consider this particularly important especially when dealing with those with physical dependency needs and dementia.
