Sofia comes across as a warm and friendly carer. Before starting her career as a live-in carer, she worked in marketing, customer relations, and as a translator (she speaks English, Urdu and Punjabi). It was while caring for a relative that Sofia found she really enjoyed caring and she then began working as a domiciliary carer before starting as a professional live-in carer in 2021. Sofia has cared for clients with spinal cord injuries, physical disabilities, different types of dementia (mild – advanced), Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis. She has also cared for clients who have had a stroke, clients with poor mobility, those with catheters and stomas, and those being fed by PEG. She is happy to assist with housekeeping and laundry, provide companionship, personal care, medication administration, prepare meals and doctor’s visits.
