Karen is a highly competent, mature, and enthusiastic carer with an outgoing yet gentle personality. She has
superb communication skills and is passionate about caring for others. With over 10 years of experience in
live-in care, she is dedicated to providing personal and physical care on a one-to-one basis in a way that
respects the dignity of the individual and promotes their independence.
Karen was born in South Africa but holds a UK passport. She is very well-spoken
with a soft accent. Karen started her live-in care career when she immigrated to the UK. Before this, she held
various business positions in South Africa, leading to her running her own printing-related business, alongside
volunteering work. The satisfaction she experienced within her volunteer work influenced her decision to
embark on a career in care and she now cannot imagine doing anything else. She is adept at assisting clients
with mild to advanced dementia (including Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer’s) and Parkinson’s, and she is
comfortable with palliative and catheter care.
