About Bernadine E.

Bernadine is a calm, compassionate, and thoughtful carer with a quieter personality. She has been working as a live-in carer since 2001 and has extensive experience of assisting clients in their own homes with a variety of health care needs including advanced dementia, stroke care, and palliative care. She also has practical experience of catheter care, stoma care, and peg feeding. Prior to her career in care, Bernadine ran her own business in South Africa importing and selling clothes from the Far East. She made the decision to become a carer after moving to the UK in 2000, as she had previously cared for members of her family and had found the role very fulfilling. Bernadine now cannot imagine doing anything else; she finds it very rewarding when she can help someone feel happy by providing kindness and compassion. She loves doing activities with her clients that they enjoy and encouraging them to lead as full a life as they are able. Cooking is one of Bernadine’s passions; she loves cooking and baking and will prepare healthy meals according to her clients’ tastes.
