I am an experienced professional with a strong work ethic and over 16 years experience in the care industry, working in residential, as well as community based positions. I have extensive experience in the hospitality industry, from running my own Guesthouse, to holding a variety of management positions in a wide range of establishments. I am well travelled and have spent time working in small communities in developing countries, on both a voluntary and paid work basis. I would describe myself as a people person with a nurturing nature and a predisposition to helping others. I have a high level of understanding and empathy for people from all walks of life and all cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds. Throughout my life and career I have encountered many challenging situations and I have resolved these by adopting both a professional and personal approach, with as little compromise as possible. I am a quick learner, and will always ask for advice and instruction, from my colleagues, whenever I need to. I believe I am a good listener and enjoy 1 on 1 care. After working in both residential and live in, I enjoy the quality time spent with the client rather then the rush time in a facility. I am willing to try my hand at anything I enjoy cooking and like to keep myself busy during the day with house duties and social visits. I am also comfortable in quite times such as reading and listening to music.
