The attributes of a carer come naturally to me. I can be described as patient, responsible, dependable and always eager to help. I also demonstrate these qualities in my life outside of work as I have lived with my aged grandmother and for over for over 6 years, have looked after her and her next door neighbour. I excelled in my first professional placement just from the personal experience, building a strong relationship with the client and their family. I have developed and learnt a lot more specialist care in my time as a carer, gaining experience helping people with mobility, continence, personal care and medication. I am confident in all of these areas. I am passionate about providing a quality service, ensuring the client recievs person centred care. I am detail oriented and adaptable. I possess the ability to work as part of a team and be responsible for my own contribution, and also have the ability to work independently, or take the lead when required. This lends itself well to liasing effectiveley with medical professionals and other teams that may be involved with a client. I am able to use my own initiative as well as accept and follow instructions efficiently. I work proactively and responsibly with care and consideration. I consider myself to be adaptable and able to interact with people of various ages, cultures and other demographics. I am interested in someones story- I love learning about someone, their life and what they enjoy.
