About Vuka S.

In my previous role as a live-in care assistant in Scotland, I found the one-on-one nature of live-in care to be more challenging yet rewarding compared to my earlier experiences as a care assistant. Providing personalized care allows me to achieve better outcomes for my clients, as I can offer compassionate and attentive support tailored to their individual needs. I have experience working with a variety of conditions, including ADHD, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, anxiety, cancer, cerebral palsy, deafness, depression, insulin-dependent (Type 1) diabetes, learning disabilities, mild cognitive impairment, non-insulin-dependent (Type 2) diabetes, orthopedic injuries, osteoporosis, Parkinson's disease, physical disabilities, rheumatoid arthritis, spinal injuries, stroke, terminal illnesses, traumatic brain injuries, vascular dementia, visual impairment, and providing non-discriminatory care services. My clients have often praised my broad general knowledge and articulate communication style, making my company enjoyable and fostering effective communication. I am a driven and self-motivated individual who prioritizes personal development, regularly participating in short courses to enhance my skills and knowledge. My most recent certification is in Care and Basic Nursing Skills. I maintain a daily workout routine, which keeps me physically fit and adept at moving and handling. With strong organizational skills and a commitment to cleanliness, I am a hands-on, hardworking professional who follows instructions well while demonstrating good initiative.

“I recently engaged Vuka for two weeks respite cover for my father who has a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease. I felt that Vuka quickly got to know how best to care for my father in the context of his condition, learning about his preferences and how to keep him safe. I found Vuka to be warm, professional and knowledgeable about care and about ensuring care frameworks and COVID safe practices were implemented to support and protect my father’s best interests. Vuka also made some helpful suggestions around improving the health and safety within my father’s home environment, working collaboratively, respectfully and diligently to implement improvements, in a manner that was patient-centred. I felt he treated my father with dignity at all times. I was very happy with the care Vuka provided for my father and would not hesitate to recommend him. We would welcome him back in future for respite cover without hesitation.”
