I am an experienced carer with a strong background in supporting clients with a variety of medical conditions, including Alzheimer’s, dementia, anxiety, deafness, depression, insulin-dependent (Type 1) diabetes, learning disabilities, osteoporosis, Parkinson’s disease, physical disabilities, rheumatoid arthritis, strokes, terminal illnesses, and visual impairments. I have assisted clients with personal care and various household duties tailored to their specific needs. A good carer must have a genuine passion for this role, as it can be very challenging. I believe it is essential to be understanding and empathetic toward my clients, taking the time to understand their unique needs. I enjoy learning from others and exploring new activities to engage my clients in pursuits that interest them, such as sports, quizzes, board games, reading, and taking walks. My approach is person-centered and holistic, promoting independence, choice, and dignity for each client. I prioritize their personal hygiene, ensure they eat and drink well, and encourage them to remain active within their capabilities.
