Hospital discharge and NHS support
Cambridge’s main hospital is Addenbrooke’s, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and it’s the usual point of discharge for older people leaving hospital in the city. Health and social care planning across the wider area is now coordinated by NHS Central East, the integrated care board formed in 2026 to bring together commissioning for Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes.
